West Jefferson defeated Southeastern Local 11-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Kyle Mason struck out Harbug to finish off the game.
Trent Kincade collected four hits in four at bats to help lead West Jeff to victory. Kincade doubled in the first, tripled in the second, singled in the fourth, and doubled in the fifth.
The Roughriders opened up scoring in the first inning, when Dylan Lambert singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
One bright spot for Southeastern Local was a single by Brown in the first inning.
Cade Brintlinger earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for West Jefferson. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over four innings, striking out eight and walking zero. Mason threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Mason recorded the last three outs to earn the save for West Jefferson.
Harbug took the loss for Southeastern Local. He surrendered eight runs on 12 hits over four innings, striking out two and walking one.
The Roughriders racked up 15 hits. Kincade, Gabe Jones, Lambert, and Hunter Braithwaite each managed multiple hits for West Jefferson. Kincade led West Jeff with four hits in four at bats.
