West Jefferson fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-1 loss to Northeastern on Friday. Northeastern scored on a error in the first inning, a double by Hand in the first inning, and a double by Peters in the second inning.The Roughriders struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Northeastern , giving up eight runs.
Peters pitched Northeastern to victory. He allowed six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out eight and walking zero.
Shane Gray took the loss for West Jefferson. He went six innings, allowing eight runs on 11 hits, striking out six and walking one. The Roughriders tallied six hits on the day. Jake Boyd and J. Gatley each racked up multiple hits for West Jefferson.
